Mowing Service: Warm Season Turf
Turf areas will be managed at a height of one and one-half (1 ½) inches beginning April 1st. Mowing will be provided on an as needed, or weekly basis to a maximum height of three (3) inches through November 30th.
We provide mechanically managed turf edges which will increase the definition between walks, curbs, and plant bed areas. This service coincides with mowing frequency.
We provide mechanically managed turf height around all obstacles within the turf area. This service will coincide with mowing and edging frequencies unless specified otherwise.
We apply fertilizer in both liquid and granular forms. This combination provides an environment which is conducive for optimal turf color and growth.
Pre-Emergent Weed Control Service
We apply pre-emergent herbicides as a valuable part of our weed control program. The herbicide applied helps to control the weeds during their seed germination or the young seedling stage of growth. This results in most weeds dying before they even have a chance to sprout.
The term “scalping” just simply describes the service in which we remove the dormant layer of grass from the turf at the end of winter. This process improves the chemical effectiveness of fertilizers and herbicides used for turf health, and it allows the turf to show new growth immediately during the spring.
We provide the removal of litter from your landscaped areas, and we use mechanical blowers to clean hardscapes following each service.
Our fall season leaf removal service helps to control the accumulation of leaves in landscaped and hardscaped areas. Our leaf removal program begins in October and ends in early January.
Manual Weed Control
We will hand-pull weeds at or above four (4) inches in height and remove other weeds within your landscape when chemicals cannot be used (i.e. wet weather, weeds growing within plants, etc.).
Herbicide Weed Control
We apply a chemical to the foliage of your plants which is then absorbed into the system of the plants thus altering or stopping the weed development within that plant bed.
Pre-Emergent Weed Control Service
We apply pre-emergent herbicides as a valuable part of our weed control program. The herbicide applied helps to control the weeds during their seed germination or the young seedling stage of growth. This results in most weeds dying in your shrubbery and plant beds before they even have a chance to sprout.
Pruning: Ground Cover and Shrubs
All plants will be trimmed with mechanical or manual shears through the growing season. The plant growth outside of a natural canopy or surrounding boundaries will be pruned to maintain a neat or natural, but controlled, appearance.
A balanced fertilizer will be applied to ground covers, shrubs, and trees three times a year unless specified otherwise. Application begins in March or April before the growing season and ends in October or November before the dormant season.
Top Dressing and Over Seeding Services
Top dressing lawns combined with aeration is a proven practice in turf maintenance programs and renovation procedures. Top dressing adds soil amendments, which helps improve the chemical and biological characteristics of the soil and in turn makes for a strong, healthy lawn. Top dressing an existing lawn will help to fill in any sparse or thin areas to make a nice thick turf, and it will help to level out any humps, bumps, or dips in your lawn making it a bit safer to walk on. Our professionals can top dress, aerate, and over seed your lawn resulting in a more lush and healthy lawn.
Aeration is one of the best things that we do as preventative medicine for lawns. Aeration loosens the soil and allows air, water, and nutrients to reach your lawn roots. It is also the best way to help correct the problem of excessive thatch build-up. Additionally, aeration of the lawn improves drainage and the take-up of water by the grass and it encourages deep root growth. Overseeding your lawn will help to fill in sparse areas in your lawn where the grass has died off. Our professionals can top dress, aerate, and overseed your lawn resulting in a more lush and healthy lawn.
Mulch & Bark Dust Application
The proper mulching of your flower, shrubbery, and tree landscape bedding will not only give your property a crisp, clean, and manicured look, but it will also drastically reduce the amount of time spent weeding, watering and fighting pests. Mulching also helps with erosion control, and it helps keep dirt from splashing up on your flowers, home, and hardscape features when it rains. We can install the appropriate amount of mulch to all of your landscape bedding.
